Since its establishment, BME Wisdom has adhered to the mission of "Clear Skies for All, Low-Carbon Earth," striving to build a cleaner and healthier environment. We firmly believe that the true power of technology lies not only in advancing industry but also in caring for every life impacted by environmental challenges. Therefore, while refining dust control technologies, BME has also turned its attention to those suffering from pneumoconiosis, demonstrating compassion through tangible actions.
From May 17 to 20, Mr. Xu Qian, CEO of BME Wisdom, led a team of employees alongside Mr. Wang Keqin, Chairman of the Love Clears Dust Charity Foundation, and volunteers on a heartfelt journey to remote areas of Sichuan. They visited Pingchang County, Zhenlong Town in Bazhong City, and Micangshan Town in Guangyuan City, aiming to connect with individuals battling pneumoconiosis and deliver warmth and hope.
During this trip, BME Wisdom, Love Clears Dust, and Pingchang County Second People’s Hospital held a collaborative forum on pneumoconiosis treatment and assistance. The hospital was officially designated as a "Love Clears Dust Partner Hospital," marking a commitment to enhance cooperation in aiding and treating patients.
The Weight of Life Under Pneumoconiosis
Pneumoconiosis, though an unfamiliar term to many, represents a grave entry in China’s occupational disease registry. 90% of occupational disease patients nationwide suffer from pneumoconiosis, with 90% of these patients being migrant workers who toil in hazardous environments. Hailing from impoverished regions, they build skyscrapers with their bare hands, only to have their health eroded by dust. After falling ill, they face not only lost income and unaffordable medical bills but also urgent societal neglect.
During the visit, we encountered not just numbers but living stories. Patients ranged in age, with the youngest being only 52. They were once miners, construction workers, tunnel pioneers, and stone crushers. Now, they rely on oxygen machines to breathe—some even purchasing generators to ensure their ventilators function during frequent power outages.
Mr. and Mrs. Wang
This couple stood out as the most unique cases: both worked in industrial stone-crushing for over a decade before being diagnosed with pneumoconiosis. Despite their plight, they remain resilient, facing the future with unwavering determination.
Collaborative Action, Igniting Hope
Pingchang County Second People’s Hospital, as a designated partner, provides annual medical aid to thousands of pneumoconiosis patients. After visiting patients, Mr. Xu Qian and Mr. Wang Keqin discussed treatment plans with the hospital’s chief physicians.
The collaboration between BME Wisdom and Love Clears Dust transcends a mere visit—it signifies a profound commitment. By establishing "Love Clears Dust Partner Hospitals," we are pioneering systematic treatment and assistance models, bringing medical resources closer to patients and making hope attainable.
